Over the space of six days my friends and I ate at The Cask four times. It is conveniently situated near the city at Rock City Mall, Mwanza's new shopping centre. This means there is ample parking. Meals were served promptly and the food, both African & Western styles were of excellent quality and value for money. Joe the owner is very hospitable and engages with the patrons. His friendly attitude is reflected in his staff. Well done Joe and your team. My advice to westerners using Mwanza as a jumping off point for a Serengeti tour is to eat at The Cask. Our pepper steaks were the equal of any we have eaten anywhere.

As an American in Mwanza for a few weeks it was nice to find The Cask. I tried a few different items on the menu and I would recommend the Hawaiian Pizza. It is consistently good, I had it many times because it was as good or better than some Hawaiian Pizzas I've had in the US.

The place was live and the food was great, we had tilapia stew and it was top notch being a Tanzanian I give it an A and our waitress Mecky made it even more memorable with a great service.

This a really good place to eat at the brand new Rock City Mall. Just outside the main building, it is nicely shaded and yet open to the fresh air. Good and helpful staff and a wide menu. Specialises in meat dishes. Some go just for a drink.
